Brief Report- Katchipettu Village Programme

 

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the Department of Social Work, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Development staged a street play titled ‘Kuyili’ in its adopted village namely Kachipattu, Sriperumbudur.

 

Professor Dr. Sibnath Deb, the Director of RGNIYD inaugurated the programme. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the Department of Social Work and its HOD      Dr. S Lalitha. He congratulated the students of Department of Social Work for the street play to create awareness among the marginalized people in Kachipattu Village.

 

Faculty members and students from other Departments also took part in the event. As part of the program, the organizing committee and the student coordinators conducted Gaana Song competition for the children and youth of the village. The winners of the competition were awarded with prizes by the Director, RGNIYD.

 

Dr. S Lalitha highlighted the activities and programs done in the Kachipattu village and recently established Nook center and its activities for the development of marginalized sections of the Village. She also expressed her deep sense of gratitude and thanks to all those who participated in the event on the occasion. She also appreciated and acknowledged the street play performance by the students of Social Work.
