Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports made his maiden visit to RGNIYD on 29th July 2022 to review the developments at the Institute and to plan the future programmes and activities of RGNIYD. Prof Sibnath Deb, the Director, RGNIYD briefed the Minister the programmes and activities, the achievements of the Institute and on-going programmes of RGNIYD.
The Hon’ble Union Minister was taken around to visit various infrastructural facilities and the ongoing programmes in progress. He visited the RGNIYD’s Academic Blocks, Training Block, Auditorium, Seminar Hall, Central Library and the newly refurbished RGNIYD’s ‘Ilanthalir’ Community Radio Station. He urged the Community Radio Station to reach out to the adolescents and youth and cater to their development needs.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports during the occasion, officially released the Books titled "Youth Development in India - Future Generations in a Changing World" authored by Prof Sibnath Deb, Dr. Bishaka Majumdar and Ms. Aleena Maria Sunny and "Child Safety, Welfare and Well-being" edited by Prof Sibnath Deb, Director, RGNIYD.
Later, the Hon’ble Minister interacted with the Faculty and Staff of the Institute during which the heads of various centres and academic departments highlighted the unique activities being performed by concerned units. The Minister evinced keen interest in collaborations of the Institute with the other National and International organizations and was very hopeful that the Institute will widen its horizon of networks both internationally and nationally for academic, research and training exchanges to provide the much needed thrust to youth development through various initiatives of the Institute. The Director, RGNIYD also stated the challenges the Institute faces for which the Hon’ble Minister assured of his fullest support for faster growth and development of the Institute.
The RGNIYD fraternity felt very happy and were motivated by the visit of the Hon’ble Union Minister to the Institute and for the valuable suggestions and guidance he provided to take the Institute to greater heights.
